A beautiful day of wonderful wedding vows, a ring bearing (very excitable) pup, plenty of wine to go around, an interesting catering experience and a rather impressive bouquet toss.
Abi and Joe arrived at Elmbridge Farm the day before their wedding with an army of friends and family to decorate the tipi with flowers of pink, burgundy and white, giving the tipi a wonderful pop of colour. After a hard afternoon of decorating, the couple and their family retired to the lodges for a relaxing evening before the big day.
The next morning began with Abi and her bridesmaid getting ready in our bridal suite, The Swallows, whilst Joe and his groomsmen got ready in the lodges below. Spirits were high as gifts were exchanged and many hugs were shared as they both prepared for one of the biggest days of their lives.
After getting ready, it was time for a beautiful lakeside ceremony. Abi succeeded her bridesmaid in a gorgeous dress to meet Joe at the other end of the aisle, played down the aisle by Joe’s best man and father! Tears flowed as they spoke their vows and laughter sparked when the boy with the most important job walked down the aisle – and he was the worlds cutest ring bearer. As Abi and Joe were announced husband and wife, their guests threw confetti for those incredible lake-side confetti shots.
The drinks began flowing for the reception as everyone posed for photo’s with the bride and groom. Champagne was served and guests mingled, congratulating the newly weds. There were garden games for guests to show off their competitive side.
The time came for everyone to settle down for a luxury wedding breakfast – which came with a fun twist! A certain guest at every table was selected to be the ‘head chef’ and given their own personal apron with a fun slogan or picture. Joe was the head chef of the top table.
Following the wedding breakfast was speeches, where laughter was shared amongst the guests as stories of the lovely couple were shared. We even had a speech from our bride, which was a lovely touch to an already lovely day!
The weather remained a steady, cool day, which meant guests could venture back outside after the wedding breakfast to continue games or mingle before the evening fully kicked in. Abi and Joe were taken off for some beautiful evening pictures in the tipi walkway lights. Then, it was time the cake cutting – or rather, the cheese cake cutting, literally! Multiple layers of cheese stacked upon each other was cut and made available for the guests with some crackers. And then, the first dance was upon our couple, who took to the dancefloor surrounded by their guests.
Following the first dance, the party was kicked off in full force. Guests stormed the dancefloor all night long, taking breaks only to indulge on the evening food provided by the couple in the form of a hot dog, or multiple vegan options. Abi also gathered all the ladies outside for a bouquet toss!
